Organizing your work

Notebooks

A notebook is a styled folder of pages, one per subject (Calculus, CS 240, Meeting notes…).

  • New notebook: the top-left toolbar button (⇧⌘N). Choose a name, accent color, icon, and a default page theme (new pages in this notebook start with that theme).
  • Restyle or rename: right-click a notebook → Edit Style….
  • Delete: right-click → Delete Notebook (moves it to the Trash).
  • Reveal in Finder: right-click → open the folder on disk.

Pages

Pages live inside a notebook and appear in the middle column.

  • New page: the New Page button in the page toolbar (⌘N). It inherits the notebook's default theme.
  • Rename: right-click a page → Rename….
  • Delete: right-click → Delete Page.
  • Flip through: use the ‹ › arrows in the page toolbar (or ⌘[ / ⌘]). A counter shows Cover / 3 of 12; flipping back from the first page returns to the notebook cover.
  • Hide the page list: the toolbar toggle collapses the middle column for a full-width writing surface.

Covers

Selecting a notebook shows a cover styled with its color and icon, plus a page count. It's the "close the book" view. Open (or the next arrow) takes you to the pages.

Search

Use the search field at the top of the notebooks column to find anything. It matches page titles and the text inside pages across every notebook. Click a result to jump straight to that page.
